Q/EMS Leadership and Commitment Procedure Template & Guide (ISO 9001 + ISO 14001)

$249
A complete, worked leadership and governance procedure for organizations holding certification to both ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2026, with the decisions already made. Covers context and interested parties, scope, the management system and its processes, leadership and commitment, customer focus, policy, roles and authorities, compliance obligations, objectives, planning of change, resources, communication, monitoring, and management review inputs and results. Appendix D records nine integration decisions with the alternative rejected for each. Includes a merged management review input set with a named producer for every input, and an eight-element maturity ladder. Every requirement is marked by scope, so you can see what ISO 9001 requires, what ISO 14001:2026 requires, and what both do. Where the two standards diverge, the stricter is taken as the house standard and the choice is recorded rather than assumed. Microsoft Word format, fully editable, with the process interaction map supplied as an editable SVG. Perennia Corp is a fictional organization used throughout as a worked example. Your purchase includes a free update to the ISO 9001:2026 alignment when MSI issues it. 25 pages.

What makes it different

The decisions are already made. Where ISO 9001 and ISO 14001:2026 pull in different directions, the stricter requirement is taken as the house standard and the choice is recorded rather than assumed, with the alternative that was rejected written down beside it.

Worth knowing before you buy. ISO 9001 5.3 requires that responsibilities and authorities are assigned, communicated and understood. ISO 14001 5.3 requires only assigned and communicated. Assignment and communication leave records; understanding leaves none, so almost nobody verifies it. This procedure states how understanding is verified, and it is one of the eight elements in the maturity ladder.

  • Appendix C — desk-level work instruction with worked examples
  • Appendix D — the integration decision record, nine decisions with rejected alternatives

Who it is for

Organizations holding certification to both ISO 9001 and ISO 14001:2026 that run — or want to run — one governance process rather than two.

Free update to the ISO 9001:2026 edition. ISO 9001 is expected to publish a new edition in 2026. Because this procedure contains the ISO 9001 scope, your purchase includes a free update to the 9001:2026 alignment when MSI issues it. Register your purchase to receive it. The ISO 14001:2026 content is already current.

Buying more than one procedure

Every procedure in this family is sold individually, and the complete sets are sold as packages. If you are building or rebuilding a documented system rather than filling one gap, the package is the better route — and these are the ones that contain ISO 9001 or ISO 14001:2026.

Questions

Which one do I need?

Take the template for the standard you are certified to. If you run more than one management system through one process, take the matching combined variant — Device for ISO 9001 with ISO 13485, Q/EMS for ISO 9001 with ISO 14001, HSE for ISO 14001 with ISO 45001, and Integrated for all three of quality, environment and safety. This page is the Q/EMS variant.

Is this written for ISO 14001:2026 or the 2015 edition?

The 2026 edition. Clause references, the policy commitments and the communication requirements are taken from ISO 14001:2026 as published, not carried over from 2015 and relabelled.

Do I have to merge my quality and environmental policies?

No. One combined policy is the house standard in this procedure, but the separate-policy route is written in and recorded at Appendix D. The procedure gives you a scope-alignment test to decide which applies: where the two certified scopes are not congruent, separate policies are the better answer, and the document says so.

How is this different from buying the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 templates separately?

Two single-standard procedures give you two governance processes. This gives you one, with every point of divergence between the standards resolved and recorded. Appendix D lists nine integration decisions with the alternative rejected for each — that reconciliation is the work you would otherwise do yourself, and it is what an auditor asks about on a combined system.

What happens when ISO 9001:2026 is published?

Your purchase includes a free update to the ISO 9001:2026 alignment when MSI issues it. Register your purchase to receive it. The ISO 14001:2026 content is already current.

Can I edit it?

Yes. Microsoft Word format, fully editable, with the process interaction map supplied as an editable SVG. Bracketed entries are decisions for you to make; nothing is left blank or marked TBD.
