A 2015 checklist won't find 2026 gaps

ISO 14001:2026 makes 31 changes, and 11 of them change what an auditor has to look for. Clause 6.3 Planning of changes is new. Risks and opportunities now have their own clause, 6.1.4. Context now names environmental conditions such as pollution, resources, climate change and biodiversity. Control of externally provided processes, products and services is broader.

An internal auditor still working from the 2015 checklist will pass things a registrar won't. We rebuilt this course around the 2026 edition and ISO 19011:2026, so you learn what changed, how to audit it, and how to write findings your organization will act on.

What makes this course different

Taught from the audit table

Built by someone who has sat through 200+ registrar audits and still performs internal audits for organizations today.

Built for 2026, not patched

Every level teaches the 2026 requirements and ISO 19011:2026, including remote audits and virtual locations.

A certificate you earn

You conduct a real internal audit and write the report. MSI grades it, and your certificate issues only when it passes.

Follow the trail

Trace a change, an environmental aspect or a compliance obligation from the plan to what really happens on site and at your providers.

Findings people act on

Each nonconformity states the requirement, the evidence and the gap, so corrective action has somewhere to start.

Tools you keep

The Change Analysis and the complete ISO 14001:2026 internal audit checksheet in Word. Edit it, brand it and use it next audit.

Questions

Who is it for?

Internal auditors, environmental and EHS managers, audit program leaders and anyone who audits an environmental management system to ISO 14001:2026.

Do I need auditing experience?

No. The course covers audit planning, conducting and reporting from the start. Experienced auditors get the 2026 changes they need to update their approach.

How long does it take?

The course is 16 training hours, the equivalent of a two-day internal auditor course. It is self-paced, so you can spread it over your schedule and return to the lessons before every audit.

I don't have an organization to audit. Can I still earn the certificate?

Yes. MSI assigns you an audit, so every learner completes a real one.

I'm already trained on ISO 14001:2015. Do I need the full course?

Not necessarily. The ISO 14001:2026 Internal Auditor Update: 2015 to 2026 workshop covers only what changed, plus ISO 19011:2026, with a graded audit. It launches November 4, 2026.

We run ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 together. Is there a combined course?

Yes. Call 888-914-9141 or book a call and we'll match the right course to your system.

Can my whole team take it?

Yes. LearningPaths Corporate Licensing brings the course to every auditor in your organization, with training records you can show your registrar. See msi-international.com/iso-training-license or call 888-914-9141.
