Purchasing & Supplier Control · Integrated (IMS)
One procedure for ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2026 and ISO 45001:2018
An integrated purchasing and supplier control procedure has to satisfy three management systems at once — quality, environmental, and occupational health and safety. This template does it in one document, written as a filled-in worked example rather than a hollow outline, so every decision is already made and visible for you to adapt.
ISO 9001:2015 Clause 8.4.2 b) asks for two determinations: the controls applied to the external provider, and the controls applied to what that provider delivers. Most procedures record one. In an integrated system the trap deepens, because the environmental duty-of-care check and the safety grade-confirmation are output controls too — owned by yet other functions. This template records them as a pair, in one place, for all three systems.
It also carries what a single-standard procedure structurally cannot: worker consultation on procurement controls (ISO 45001 Clause 5.4, which lives outside the operational clause), the hierarchy of controls applied at the point of purchase, three-way contractor coordination, and multi-employer workplace arrangements.
The integrated criticality rating is the highest of the three effects — quality, environmental, safety — never an average and never the commercial value. That is the mechanism that stops a cheap, quality-trivial item on which a safety control depends from falling through every threshold in your system.
Organizations running — or moving toward — an integrated management system across quality, environment and safety, who want one purchasing procedure that satisfies all three rather than three that disagree.
One integrated procedure, written as a completed worked example — in editable Word, ready to adopt into your own document control.
